# Android Devices

This guide will walk you through the steps to set up 9Proxy on your Android device using either mobile data or Wi-Fi.

## Before You Start

Make sure that:

* Your computer (running the 9Proxy app) and your Android device are connected to the same local network (**LAN**).
* No firewall or antivirus is blocking the connection.

## Step 1: Find Your Computer’s LAN IP Address

You’ll need [your computer’s LAN IP address](https://docs.9proxy.com/intergrations/residential-proxy-by-ips/use-proxies-on-two-or-more-devices) to connect your Android device to the proxy.

## Step 2: Launch 9Proxy and Select the Correct IP

* Open the 9Proxy app on your computer.
* In the Proxy List, find the Port section and select the **LAN IP** address you found in **Step 1**.
* [Port forward](https://docs.9proxy.com/getting-started/quick-start/configure-proxy-on-macos-windows) the selected proxy to any available port of your choice.

* After port forwarding, go to the **Forwarding List** to find your proxy info, including the forwarded port.

## Step 3: Configure Proxy Settings on Your Android Device

### For Mobile Data (APN Settings)

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Open **Settings** > **Network & Internet** > **Internet**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Tap your mobile network provider, then scroll down to **Access Point Names** (**APNs**).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Select the APN you're currently using.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Under **Proxy** and **Port**, enter:

* **Proxy**: Your computer’s **LAN IP** from **Step 1**
* **Port**: The port you configured in 9Proxy
  {% endstep %}
  {% endstepper %}

### For Wi-Fi Connections

{% stepper %}
{% step %}
Go to **Settings** > **Network & Internet** > **Internet**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Tap your connected Wi-Fi network, then tap the edit icon (🖉) in the top right.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Expand **Advanced** options.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Under the **Proxy** section, select **Manual**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}
Enter:

* **Proxy Hostname**: Your computer’s **LAN IP** from **Step 1**
* **Proxy Port**: The port from 9Proxy
  {% endstep %}

{% step %}
Tap **Save** to apply the settings.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## All Set!

Your Android device is now connected to the proxy. If you run into any issues:

* Double-check the IP and port values.
* Ensure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
* Temporarily disable firewalls or VPNs.
* Restart your browser or try a different one.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.9proxy.com/integrations/ip-based-residential-proxies/mobile-devices/android-devices.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
