# macOS

Follow these simple steps to configure a proxy on your macOS:

## Forward Proxy IP to Port

Before configuring the proxy on macOS, make sure you have already [forwarded your proxy IP to a port using 9Proxy](https://docs.9proxy.com/getting-started/residential-proxy-by-ips/for-macos-windows/configure-proxy).

## Access Proxy Settings

Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen

Open System Settings (or System Preferences depending on your macOS version)

In the search bar, type Proxies and select it from the search results

## Set Up and Use a Proxy Server

Select the Proxies tab

Check the box for SOCKS Proxy

Enter your proxy server’s IP address and the port number you forwarded earlier

Click **OK** to save your settings

Done! Your Mac is now connected through the proxy.
